I’ve never been a huge social media person (like

I’ve never been a huge social media person (like not one that posts pictures and life updates all the time). And for sure don’t think I’ve ever posted my opinion publicly on anything contradictory. That’s not to say I don’t have tough conversations with people in person all the time, because I surly do. But if I can post something to help someone else see something they are unable to currently see, just one person, then this will be worth it. So here is goes:

WHITE PRIVILEGE
One thing I’ve noticed as a white woman who talks to plenty of other white people about this issue is that some white people get defensive when they hear “white privilege”. And that’s what I try and change and open eyes to. You are not a bad person because you were born with white privilege - you didn’t ask for it nor do anything yourself to gain it. You were simply born with it because you are white (same as I). There is also a lot of confusion with “white privilege” and “privileged life”. White privilege does NOT mean you grew up with no hardship or a wealthy life. It doesn’t mean you have one now nor ever will. If you are white and you grew up in poverty and are now an adult or grandparent and have a better life because you busted your ass for it, someone saying “white privilege” is not attacking you or the work you did in your life to gain a better life. Not at all. White privileged is about the average white person being given more opportunities than your average person of color (POC). It’s about not being scared for your LIFE when getting pulled over because you didn’t use your blinker or tags aren’t up to date. We as white people HAVE to acknowledge that there IS such thing as white privilege or nothing will ever change.
POLICE VS POC
The death of George Floyd was tragic and disgusting - I think we can all agree on this. What’s even more tragic and disgusting is that this is an on going thing in our country (Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Stephon Clark - this is just the top of my head, the list GOES ON). None of these people deserved to be killed by police NO MATTER the situation they were in. (Continues below...)

Today was the day you had me mark in my calendar as the the day you walk down the aisle. I should be starting my MOH duties by getting you some Starbucks and waking you up right about now (because let’s be real, you would not wake up before 10 😂). You would have made the most beautiful bride Denise. In your stunning dress and your mommas hat that she wore on her wedding day💕. I’m so happy that you got to feel like a princess and beautiful bride-to-be for one day before you had to leave us - the day you found your wedding dress. I will forever be grateful for @graceandwhitebridal and the memories they helped us make on that day. It hurts that it was the last day I physically saw you, but I’m happy it was such a beautiful one. I will forever remember you as a bride. The ladies at @graceandwhitebridal went above and beyond, not only on the day we went to and pick out Denise’s dress, but after she was taken from us as well. They teamed with @scottanddanaphotographers to get us this last picture of Denise in her dress and both families got beautiful prints as well. It’s something I will cherish forever.

So we’ve been keeping a little secret over here at S+S for the past few months and I figure it was time to share. Donnie is going to be a big brother to a baby sister💕. This boy told me I was pregnant before I even knew. And from day one he said it was his “sissy”. He gives her hugs every day and talks about how he is going to help give her baths and change her diaper. He is seriously going to be the BEST big brother ever and I can’t wait to witness those magic moments.

Talk about functionality. Place-cards, turned coasters, turned guests favors! I honestly originally thought of this idea as a home decor item - does anyone else ever have a plethora of bottle and cups sitting around and no ones knows who’s is who’s? Put your cup/bottle on your coaster - problem solved! .

But if I can post something to help someone else see something they are unable to currently see, just one person, then this will be worth it. So here is goes:
